Pain & injury clinic

Fast, effective relief from
musculoskeletal pain.

Clinic sessions are focused on solving your pain, injury or discomfort. There can be many reasons why you are suffering with the symptoms that you have. In order to fully resolve a problem, you need to fully understand why it is happening. Therefore we will take a thorough history of your condition, when it started and the circumstances surrounding how it started. We will also discuss other injuries you might have had in the past. Believe it or not, some of those "not so minor" injuries that you may have forgotten about, maybe contributing to your current problem.

Once we have all the details, we will thoroughly assess you to see how and why your body is doing what it is currently doing. The body is always doing it's best with what it has to work with, so we need to find what it can't do and work out exactly why it can't. Once we have all the information, we develop a treatment plan to try and resolve both old and current problems. Some of the ways in which we do that are outlined below.

Really impressed with the treatment I recevied

Bodymaster Method®

Created by the highly respected Osteopath John Gibbons, The Bodymaster Method® is an advanced training certification within musculoskeletal therapy. It brings togehter a whole host of physical therapies to provide a multidisciplinary approach to resolving your pain or injury.

Focusing on "why" you have the symtpoms you do and not just the "where", enables treatment to be specific, resulting in faster and longer lasting recovery times.

Treatment may include:

  • Joint mobilisations
  • Soft tissue massage
  • Strengthening
  • Rehabilitation
  • Taping
  • Electrotherapeutic modalities

Anatomy in Motion™

Possibly the most exciting and innovative thought process in musculoskeletal therapy. Anatomy in Motion™ creator Gary Ward has studied human movement, and in particular human gait (walking), in minute detail. This has led to the creation of the Flow Motion Model™, a three-dimensional map of what each joint in the human body is designed to do, in order to allow the most energy efficient, pain free way of walking.

This model allows us to track each and every joint in the body and see how they interact with each other. More importantly it shows us what can happen when one particular joint is either not moving enough or moving too much, and how it can influence the rest of the body. It allows us to search for what is missing, help put it back and then integrate it into movement.

Very simply put, imagine if every joint in the body that has the potentail to flex and extend, could actually fully flex and fully extend. Then also imagine if that joint could fully rotate right and left as well as fully side bend right and left. Now imagine if every joint could fully move, without restriction, throughout all it's potential range of movement and do so whilst every other joint is moving as well. If this were to happen, then the chances of being in musculoskeletal pain would be very low. Anatomy in Motion™ uses a map to see what can and can't move, works out why it is not doing what it is suppose to, corrects it and then integrates into movement therapy. Results are often fantastic!

Sports Therapy

Sports Therapy is an aspect of healthcare that is specifically concerned with the prevention of injury and the treatment of the patient back to optimum levels of functional, occupational and sports specific fitness, regardless of age and ability.

Sports Therapy is a relatively new profession and is quickly establishing itself as the go-to service for people suffering with sports related injuries. However, despite having "Sports" in the title, Sports Therapy is suited to almost everyone. Sporty people have the exact same joints and muscles as non-sporty people so everyone can benefit.

Sports Therapy treatment strategies are similar to other physical therapies and include:

  • Joint mobilisations
  • Soft tissue massage
  • Strengthening
  • Rehabiliation
  • Exercise therapy
  • Taping
  • Electrotherapeutic modalities
